Technology Support Roles

What are the differences between ToSAs, Media Coaches, and Tech Assistants? Here is a quick description of each of our job roles and what they can do for you.

Teacher on Special Assignment (ToSA)

Our three ToSAs are credentialed, experienced teachers with expertise in technology, pedagogy, and the intersection of the two. They plan and deliver professional development, as well as modeling lessons or consulting with teachers. Teachers should contact them by email or phone when they would like to talk about curriculum, instruction, or assessment.

Media Coach

Our three Media Coaches have software and hardware knowledge about the devices and programs students are using. They can help with students logging in, operating software, saving documents, and managing resources. They are classified staff hired for 3.7 hours per day, and each have responsibility for 10 - 11 schools.

Computer Analysts and Technology Assistants

Each site’s technical resource is a highly-trained technical expert with the skills and access to diagnose and repair software, account, device, and networking problems, as well as some simple hardware fixes. Contact them through the help desk to get computers, printers, monitors, or software back in working order. They are full-time classified staff and each have responsibility for 1-3 schools.
