I really love Daniel Tiger. The simple songs in the updated show offer sweet solutions to common problems children and adults face. How to respond when you are angry, disappointed and scared for example. Recently, my children were watching the episode about trying new foods. The catchy song comes on, "You gotta try try foods 'cause they might taste good!" As I was humming the song later that day it dawned on me. This concept applies to more than just food. Part of my job is convincing teachers that technology can enhance and transform their teaching. We can provide training and resources and devices, but in the end it comes down to the teacher trying it on their own. This is the foundation of Growth Mindset. It's not about being an expert in everything...it's about being willing to try new things...cause they might be awesome!
Here are some examples of teachers trying new things.
