Last week we held a Back-to-School EdTech Summit at the SVUSD District Office. This "Teacher Teaching Teachers" event featured over 20 sessions with SVUSD teachers, coaches, and ToSAs. 80+ K-12 teachers attended, and feedback was very positive. Teachers really enjoyed having a choice in what sessions to attend, access to all resources, and time to work!
Our Superintendent Dr. Turner shared our district vision and welcomed our dedicated teachers back from summer break. She emphasized the importance of intentional lesson design, engaging strategies, and developing innovative practices that create successful students. Our schedule with resources was available digitally, so attendees could retrieve it on their phones, laptops, or iPads. Each session included its linked resources, so if teachers missed a session, they still had access to that session's resources. With each 80-minute session, there was time for exploration, explanation, and application. Kevin Fairchild, our Technology Coordinator, even hosted an AMA (Ask Me Anything) session!
Educational Technology Services will host three more of these events this year. The tentative dates are October 21st, January 20th, and April 14th. We hope to see you there!
