As you start fresh in a new school year, think about starting fresh in Google Classroom too. Here are some suggestions to help you “clean-up” your Google Classroom. This will allow you, your current students, and your previous students to get organized and work more efficiently as a new academic year begins.

Teacher suggestions
Review and Return assignments in Google Classroom
A. Go to classroom.google.com and select a class that you are the teacher of.
B. Review assignments from your last year classes. If you have ungraded assignments, change point value to “ungraded” in point field and “update”.
C. Return Assignments: In any given assignment window, click on check box for “All students” at top left and click RETURN for any work that you no longer need to be the “owner" of.

Archive class(es) in Google Classroom
A. Go to classroom.google.com
B. On the class card, click the three dots next to the class name and select Archive.
C. To confirm, click Archive. *Documents/files will still be accessible in the Classroom folder in your Google Drive when a class has been archived. Students will also still have access to their documents in their Classroom folder in Google Drive.
Teachers can still access archived classes within Classroom, and can re-use posts from them. Archiving does not equal deleting.
Student suggestions
If your teacher has not archived your class from last year...
A. Go to classroom.google.com
B. In Home Classes window, select the 3 dots next to any class name that you no longer wish to be enrolled in and select “Unenroll”.
C. You will still have access to your documents in drive.google.com in your “Classroom” folder.
