Online PD Coming to SVUSD

In order to provide more professional learning options for teachers, your EdTech team is going to try out some workshops offered completely online. We are currently working on three courses:

Learn from the comfort of your own home!

• Maps and Legends - Google Maps, Earth, Arts and Culture, Expeditions, etc.
• Sheets and Forms - Google Forms, Spreadsheets, and Add-Ons
• Introduction to Coding - Scratch, Tynker, Google Scripts, and more!

Our vision is that each of these courses will include instructional strategies and ideas that you can use with your students, as well as increased personal proficiency with the tools. Each class will be three weeks long and offered entirely through Powerschool Learning. Classes will be limited to 20 people. Participants will be expected to work two hours each week (outside of school hours), contribute to class discussions, and submit each week's project. Once the course is successfully completed, participants will be paid at the academic hourly rate for a total of six hours.

Look for information and enrollment for these courses coming next month. Depending on the response these courses get, we may repeat them, or develop courses on other topics. If you have suggestions for topics, or want to get more information, please let us know.
