One thing we have learned about professional development is that teachers appreciate NOT having to make sub plans! That's why we have reserved 4 Saturdays a year for EdTech Summits.
They have been a great success for many reasons. First, our presenters are teachers! They are talented, compassionate, dedicated educators sharing what works for them. Next, our attendees are given choice. We offer concurrent sessions on different topics, so teachers can choose what's best for them. Last, each EdTech Summit has a focus or theme. Our last theme was "Engaging Strategies" with topics such as Flipping Your Classroom, Flipgrid, and Symbaloo. The BEST part about our Saturday EdTech Summits is that even if teachers don't get to all of their desired sessions, they can find all of our resources online!
